The Ultimate Podcasters Gear Guide for 2024
In the words of Mariah Carey, “All I Want For Christmas Is…Microphones”.
I’m sure when she originally sang “you”, Mariah was actually thinking about a particular microphone that she had her eye on. Perhaps swooning over a rather special condenser microphone that highlights the sparkly frequencies in her voice.
It’s plausible and I won’t let you tell me otherwise. I am not being ridiculous.
Today we’re jumping into an extensive list of podcasting equipment to help you stop analysing all the potential options that are available on the market, and just purchase something already.
I hope it helps!

I've got podcasting gear to
Speaker:recommend to you today, not just
Speaker:audio, but also video stuff as well.
Speaker:If you're just kind of starting
Speaker:out, you don't know what to get.
Speaker:This is a pretty exhaustive list of
Speaker:everything that you could potentially
Speaker:get, and there's a few different
Speaker:price points in there as well.
Speaker:We're going to go through things
Speaker:like USB only mics, USB XLR combos,
Speaker:XLRs, wireless options, preamps, boom
Speaker:arms, headphones, cameras, cables
Speaker:for those cameras, webcams, lighting
Speaker:options, and tripods or stands as well.
Speaker:So it's quite a good list and what
Speaker:better time of year to do this
Speaker:than around the Black Friday sales.
Speaker:If you're watching this at time
Speaker:of recording or close to, we
Speaker:are coming up to that time.
Speaker:So you may get some really
Speaker:decent deals on here.
Speaker:Some of these things I have here, With
Speaker:me that I can show you in my hands
Speaker:some of these things I don't have which
Speaker:we will put on screen here so that
Speaker:you can see them I've put links to
Speaker:everything in the description below so
Speaker:that you can go in and just click on
Speaker:things and purchase them if you want.
Speaker:We are affiliated with Amazon So if you
Speaker:do buy anything from those little quickie
Speaker:links, then we get a tiny kick back
Speaker:from that which you know It's very nice.
Speaker:It's very nice to receive those little
Speaker:things So thanks for doing that.
Speaker:If that's the case.
Speaker:All right, so let's get stuck in to
Speaker:my recommendations for podcasters,
Speaker:both audio and video podcasters.
Speaker:First up, we're going to
Speaker:go through USB microphones.
Speaker:The first one I'm going to
Speaker:recommend is the Rode NT USB Mini.
Speaker:It's a little tiny mic.
Speaker:It's got its own stand.
Speaker:I've done a full review.
Speaker:I've Battled this microphone
Speaker:against other microphones in
Speaker:a kind of similar vein here.
Speaker:It is a condenser microphone It does
Speaker:have a few Issues with you know,
Speaker:because it's a condenser it will pick
Speaker:up more than the dynamic microphones
Speaker:Will it needs to be a little bit
Speaker:more of a treated sort of room?
Speaker:So as long as you're nice and close to
Speaker:this microphone It is a beautiful option
Speaker:and a time of recording, you know It is
Speaker:a beautiful US dollars, it's like $89.
Speaker:So on the Black Friday sales, it
Speaker:might even be cheaper than that.
Speaker:It's a very cheap option for
Speaker:A USB only, uh, situation.
Speaker:Something that I would recommend
Speaker:if you're just getting started,
Speaker:it's got a really nice sound and
Speaker:it's not gonna break the bank.
Speaker:Now, for something that's a little
Speaker:bit more expensive in the USB realm,
Speaker:USB only, I'm gonna recommend the se.
Speaker:Neom.
Speaker:Now I have a review of this
Speaker:microphone where I do that all
Speaker:the sorts of tests and it's 179
Speaker:at time of recording versus 89.
Speaker:So it's definitely more
Speaker:expensive, but it sounds better.
Speaker:It is a condenser as well.
Speaker:So they're both condensers,
Speaker:but this one has more control.
Speaker:It has more control.
Speaker:Buttons that you can actually do
Speaker:things with, whereas the N-T-U-S-B mini
Speaker:doesn't have those, uh, and it sounds
Speaker:like it's, it's a nicer sounding mic.
Speaker:So if you're interested in that one, go
Speaker:and watch the review of this microphone
Speaker:so that you can decide for yourself.
Speaker:But if all you're looking
Speaker:for is a USB option.
Speaker:This is a beautiful option and
Speaker:it looks cool, but you will need
Speaker:a pop filter for this as well.
Speaker:So I'll put a link to some pop filters
Speaker:that could work for this as well.
Speaker:Now we're moving into USB Slash XLR.
Speaker:So that hybrid microphone
Speaker:that can do both things.
Speaker:The Rode PodMic USB XLR.
Speaker:Obviously it has two inputs.
Speaker:I've battled this microphone
Speaker:against a lot of microphones.
Speaker:You'll see them on our YouTube
Speaker:channel and it wins a lot.
Speaker:Okay.
Speaker:Spoiler alert.
Speaker:It wins a lot because for the price
Speaker:point, like it's about 200 US dollars.
Speaker:It's just a solid mic and it's really
Speaker:handy and it's a dynamic microphone.
Speaker:So it handles noisier
Speaker:environments really well.
Speaker:And the fact that it has both USB and
Speaker:XLR means that you can upgrade this
Speaker:setup to something that needs XLR and
Speaker:like fancier preamps and all that.
Speaker:You can use this one mic and it
Speaker:will last you a really long time.
Speaker:So.
Speaker:That is an absolute
Speaker:definite recommendation.
Speaker:If you're looking for a combo USB XLR
Speaker:at a good price point of around 200,
Speaker:we've also got the Shure MV7 Plus.
Speaker:Now I don't have that microphone here.
Speaker:Okay.
Speaker:I have the Shure MV7.
Speaker:I don't want to recommend that
Speaker:one because I actually don't
Speaker:think it's anywhere near as good
Speaker:as the updated MV7 Plus version.
Speaker:The MV7, there were some issues that
Speaker:really needed to be addressed, and
Speaker:so they brought out the Plus version,
Speaker:which basically fixed the issues
Speaker:that people were having with the MV7.
Speaker:So, that's a good recommendation
Speaker:if you love the MV7.
Speaker:products.
Speaker:If you want it to be sure, then
Speaker:yeah, you could definitely get the
Speaker:MV7 plus it is XLR and USB as well.
Speaker:And that one's just a little
Speaker:bit more expensive around 249.
Speaker:So they are my two recommendations.
Speaker:If you want a combo being XLR and USB
Speaker:so that you could potentially upgrade
Speaker:your system as you get Further along
Speaker:in podcasting, go for one of those.
Speaker:Now we're going to move
Speaker:into XLR only microphones.
Speaker:Now I'm not going to be surprising
Speaker:anybody that knows this channel when
Speaker:I say this one here that I'm using,
Speaker:the SE DCM8 is absolute my favorite.
Speaker:Favorite recommendation
Speaker:for XLR microphones.
Speaker:Again, I have battled this microphone
Speaker:against others and it always wins.
Speaker:It always wins because of the
Speaker:tone in this microphone is so
Speaker:much nicer than anything else
Speaker:that I've come across, especially
Speaker:for female voices, but males too.
Speaker:So this one to me is
Speaker:kind of a no brainer.
Speaker:It's 299 US at time of recording
Speaker:and that's a very good price
Speaker:for a very nice microphone.
Speaker:I recommend this one.
Speaker:I could just recommend it all day.
Speaker:So SE, A plus on delivering
Speaker:such a good mic here.
Speaker:The other one I will
Speaker:recommend is the SM7DB.
Speaker:The only difference between the SM7B
Speaker:and the SM7DB, really, is the fact that
Speaker:it has a, like, a booster inside of it.
Speaker:This is the SE dynamite, which
Speaker:essentially means that if your microphone
Speaker:doesn't have enough level, Yeah, it
Speaker:needs boost to get it to sound good
Speaker:with the preamp that you're using.
Speaker:You plug it into this and it gives it
Speaker:that extra boost that it needs to get it
Speaker:to the level that you need it to get to.
Speaker:So the Shure SM7B didn't have that.
Speaker:You always had to buy one of these.
Speaker:things to attach to it, to get it
Speaker:to the level it needed to be at.
Speaker:Otherwise it sounded pretty trash
Speaker:because it was such a low level and
Speaker:you had to turn the gain up so high
Speaker:to get it to where it needed to be.
Speaker:What they did with the SM7DB is
Speaker:they basically put one of these
Speaker:inside of the SM7DB so that you
Speaker:didn't have to buy an extra booster.
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:So basically the same mic, it's
Speaker:pretty expensive, expensive.
Speaker:449.
Speaker:I will recommend it because otherwise
Speaker:people will be like, why didn't
Speaker:you recommend the Shure products?
Speaker:I mean, they're good.
Speaker:That is good, but I just
Speaker:think it's expensive.
Speaker:It sounds good.
Speaker:I think it's expensive.
Speaker:I'll let you make that decision
Speaker:yourself, but I'd be going for this one.
Speaker:All right.
Speaker:Next, let's do some wireless setups.
Speaker:I'm going to recommend
Speaker:the Rode Wireless Pro.
Speaker:I've done a review of this separately
Speaker:so that you can take a look at it.
Speaker:Yes, it comes in two boxes.
Speaker:It's kind of weird that it's
Speaker:two boxes, but you know.
Speaker:It does need a box for all its little
Speaker:accessories and it does need one for
Speaker:its microphones and things as well.
Speaker:Why I'm recommending this one is
Speaker:because it just sounds good, right?
Speaker:So the actual quality, the timbre,
Speaker:the tone, the bass, the settings,
Speaker:the things you can change with this
Speaker:Rode Wireless Pro is best in class.
Speaker:At this point, best in class.
Speaker:And it's 363.
Speaker:So yeah, I would be recommending that.
Speaker:Now, I've also used the,
Speaker:and I have the DJI Mic 2.
Speaker:Few things I don't love about this
Speaker:one, and I have a review on it, so I'm
Speaker:not going to spoil it for you, but I
Speaker:would recommend this over this because
Speaker:they're basically the same price and
Speaker:I think Rode has done a better job.
Speaker:Sennheiser is and has just brought
Speaker:something to the market which I haven't
Speaker:tried yet, so I can't recommend or
Speaker:tell you anything about that one
Speaker:yet, but that would be one to watch
Speaker:when it is available to purchase.
Speaker:I will certainly be doing so and giving
Speaker:you a full review of that one as well.
Speaker:So wireless, Pro from Rode is my
Speaker:pick for your wireless options.
Speaker:That's if you're wanting to do
Speaker:interviews, you have multiple people,
Speaker:you want to record on location.
Speaker:You don't want to have the
Speaker:whole big setup and everything.
Speaker:You can just use a wireless system.
Speaker:Now we're going to talk about XLR leads.
Speaker:So you've got an XLR, Microphone, let's
Speaker:say you need a lead that goes with it.
Speaker:All XLR leads are not created equally.
Speaker:Okay.
Speaker:Some of them are terrible.
Speaker:They break really easily.
Speaker:They're just bad.
Speaker:Don't skimp.
Speaker:on the lead.
Speaker:Like as far as pricing goes, it's
Speaker:more expensive is better because
Speaker:it's going to last you a lot longer.
Speaker:I promise you, if you treat
Speaker:your leads with care, they
Speaker:can last you a very long time.
Speaker:For example, I've got this one here.
Speaker:I've got a bunch of these and these
Speaker:are planet wave leads that I think
Speaker:I have now had for probably 15 to 18
Speaker:years and they are still going strong.
Speaker:So if you take care of it, if you,
Speaker:you know, Make sure that you fold
Speaker:them up properly, which I learned at
Speaker:uni in one of that was actually one
Speaker:of the first things we learned in our
Speaker:university degree is how to coil a lead
Speaker:properly so that they don't get damaged.
Speaker:So XLR leads are really good to
Speaker:make sure that you get a solid
Speaker:one for, and I recommend Megami,
Speaker:Rode and Elgato for XLR leads.
Speaker:There are some others as well,
Speaker:some really good German brands.
Speaker:Uh, you, what you're kind of
Speaker:looking for there is gold plated.
Speaker:I probably wouldn't recommend you
Speaker:get these on Amazon if you go to a
Speaker:music store, uh, and you ask for XLR
Speaker:leads, I would say around between
Speaker:three meters and on, like don't get
Speaker:one that's really small, get one
Speaker:three meters or over and yeah, just
Speaker:get them to show you just the gold
Speaker:plated ones and it will cost you a bit.
Speaker:It's not going to break the bank.
Speaker:You only have to do it once, look
Speaker:after them and you'll be able to keep
Speaker:those leads for a really long time.
Speaker:The road ones are cool because
Speaker:they come in different colors.
Speaker:I like that.
Speaker:Uh, but yeah, you know, it
Speaker:doesn't have to be road.
Speaker:Certainly can be others as well.
Speaker:Now we're looking at preamps.
Speaker:So if you have an XLR microphone and
Speaker:you have an XLR lead, then you need to
Speaker:be able to plug that into something.
Speaker:And you can't plug that
Speaker:straight into your computer.
Speaker:You have to plug it into a preamp.
Speaker:I'm going to give you a couple
Speaker:of recommendations here.
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:The preamp will then plug into
Speaker:your laptop or your computer,
Speaker:and you'll get that beautiful,
Speaker:rich sound from XLR there.
Speaker:So we have the Focusrite
Speaker:Scarlett 2i2 4th Gen.
Speaker:That's a pretty cheap option.
Speaker:Uh, it's around 190 ish US.
Speaker:And it does a really decent job.
Speaker:Focusrite is a very good
Speaker:brand that is very well known.
Speaker:I would recommend that one
Speaker:as a good starting point.
Speaker:And it is what we've recommended
Speaker:to clients that don't want to
Speaker:spend too much on a preamp.
Speaker:Focusrite does a really good job.
Speaker:I also recommend the Rodecaster Duo.
Speaker:So if it's just you and potentially you
Speaker:and someone else, then the Rodecaster
Speaker:Duo does a very good job and it has lots
Speaker:of fun buttons and it has sound effects
Speaker:and it has things you can record into.
Speaker:And it's got really good Apex processing.
Speaker:It's.
Speaker:It's great.
Speaker:It's more expensive.
Speaker:It's about 480, 490 kind of realm,
Speaker:but it's, it's a great setup,
Speaker:great system as well for those
Speaker:that want a little bit more.
Speaker:And you can also record straight
Speaker:into it as well, so you don't
Speaker:need to plug it into anything.
Speaker:You could just take it to a location
Speaker:and then have a little micro SD and
Speaker:record straight into it as well.
Speaker:So it's, it's a good multi use tool,
Speaker:whereas the Focusrite, you need to just
Speaker:have it plugged into your computer.
Speaker:All the time.
Speaker:So we've got a microphone, we've
Speaker:got cables, we've got a preamp
Speaker:if we need all those things.
Speaker:And with, if we've got a USB
Speaker:mic, it's just the USB mic.
Speaker:You want to make sure that
Speaker:you put it on a boomer.
Speaker:That's really the only way that you're
Speaker:going to get the mic close enough to
Speaker:you without you having to hold it.
Speaker:Uh, and it not be in the
Speaker:way of everything as well.
Speaker:So, I would recommend that you get the
Speaker:Rode PSA1 This is a very good stand.
Speaker:It's a decent price.
Speaker:It's around 129.
Speaker:Now, the other one that I recommend
Speaker:is the Elgato Wave low profile.
Speaker:So you will see a lot of video
Speaker:podcasters, especially use the low
Speaker:profile because it doesn't have
Speaker:this like arm that goes this way.
Speaker:It goes.
Speaker:down, hence the low profile, which
Speaker:means it takes up even less of the shot.
Speaker:So I like that as an option for
Speaker:someone that wants to kind of
Speaker:keep it a little bit more minimal.
Speaker:It does reach around the same length.
Speaker:It is much closer to the desk then.
Speaker:So if you were trying to
Speaker:type and have it, I think it
Speaker:would be getting in the way.
Speaker:So if you're a streamer, maybe the
Speaker:low profile might not quite work
Speaker:cause you might keep hitting it.
Speaker:Um, Those are two really good options,
Speaker:and the Elgato Wave is around 99, so
Speaker:they're very similar costs there as well.
Speaker:Headphones are up next.
Speaker:Headphones, I absolutely recommend that
Speaker:you purchase because if you're recording
Speaker:just by yourself, you're You, you don't
Speaker:really need them, although it's fun
Speaker:to listen to yourself and kind of get
Speaker:a monitoring level so that you know
Speaker:that it's actually recording and that
Speaker:it sounds good and certainly if you're
Speaker:editing, I absolutely recommend you get
Speaker:headphones, but, uh, if you're recording
Speaker:with guests, then you definitely need
Speaker:headphones, not in the same location.
Speaker:You don't need headphones there, but if
Speaker:you're recording over Riverside or heaven
Speaker:forbid zoom, then you need headphones so
Speaker:that your microphone isn't picking up.
Speaker:They're sound coming through to
Speaker:your microphone from the bleed.
Speaker:And it causes a big old mess,
Speaker:which I absolutely hate.
Speaker:So I have two recommendations
Speaker:for headphones.
Speaker:You don't need to spend heaps, but it
Speaker:is cool to get some that are over ears.
Speaker:And I would recommend you get wired
Speaker:so that you don't have, uh, issues
Speaker:with connection loss, Bluetooth
Speaker:lagging, things like that, especially
Speaker:if you're editing wireless ones
Speaker:don't work so well with editing.
Speaker:So we have the Audio Technica ATH M2.
Speaker:20X.
Speaker:These are a pretty cheap,
Speaker:they're pretty cheap.
Speaker:Okay.
Speaker:They're, they're pretty good though.
Speaker:They're like 49 and yeah, the stuff
Speaker:around the ears sort of starts to
Speaker:come off a bit and that's pretty par
Speaker:for the course for anything that's
Speaker:a cheaper sort of model and it's
Speaker:coated more in like a plastic thing.
Speaker:Um, but they sound good.
Speaker:They're easy to wear.
Speaker:They, you know, they're
Speaker:You know, stay on.
Speaker:They're really light because
Speaker:there's nothing much to them.
Speaker:And I use these for like, if I'm
Speaker:sitting at the piano or something and
Speaker:I, I, I don't need my big headphones.
Speaker:I'll just wear these little little ones.
Speaker:I don't care about these ones
Speaker:so much because they're just,
Speaker:the sound is not as full.
Speaker:It's not as interesting.
Speaker:There's not depth.
Speaker:I don't edit with these headphones
Speaker:on, but if all you're doing is
Speaker:being able to hear people over,
Speaker:you know, riverside, this is fine.
Speaker:Just get something like this.
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:They're really cheap.
Speaker:And then my other recommendation
Speaker:is the Beyerdynamic brand DT 990.
Speaker:Oh my God.
Speaker:These are beautiful.
Speaker:Beyerdynamic does such great.
Speaker:Good headphones.
Speaker:And if you're looking at doing some
Speaker:editing and you feel like you need
Speaker:something that just gives you a
Speaker:little bit more of that, like richer
Speaker:sound that you can edit properly,
Speaker:but they're not, uh, weighted in any
Speaker:particular frequency, this is good.
Speaker:These are good.
Speaker:They are about 179.
Speaker:So again, not super expensive.
Speaker:There are much more expensive headphones.
Speaker:Okay.
Speaker:There are, headphones can get
Speaker:crazy expensive and with good
Speaker:reason a lot of the time.
Speaker:These ones are great because you
Speaker:can wear them for a long time
Speaker:without it hurting your head.
Speaker:A lot of headphones are too heavy.
Speaker:They're just really heavy and if
Speaker:you're editing or if you're on a
Speaker:couple of zoom calls and you're
Speaker:sitting here with, with giant
Speaker:headphones on, they start to get heavy.
Speaker:You get a headache, you know,
Speaker:so you want something that
Speaker:you can just have on for ages.
Speaker:So, these are really good for that.
Speaker:They will be able to
Speaker:last a very long time.
Speaker:I love them.
Speaker:They're also, um, fabric.
Speaker:So, they don't wear as quickly as
Speaker:the more, like, plasticky version do.
Speaker:And, uh, yeah, they are
Speaker:my two recommendations.
Speaker:Guys, I could, I could recommend
Speaker:a lot more very expensive gear,
Speaker:and I'm purposely not doing that.
Speaker:There's so many things that I could
Speaker:recommend, but I just feel like I
Speaker:don't want you to spend too much.
Speaker:on things that you don't need.
Speaker:Like if you don't need it, don't go
Speaker:spending above what you actually need.
Speaker:Make your way there, invest what you
Speaker:can, but know your limits as well.
Speaker:Now we're going to get into cameras.
Speaker:Now again, you could spend
Speaker:thousands of dollars on cameras.
Speaker:If you want to get a camera set up that
Speaker:makes your video podcasting look nicer.
Speaker:Then, I only have one recommendation,
Speaker:and that is the Sony ZV E10 Mark II.
Speaker:Sony ZV E10, the first one is still
Speaker:very good, but the Mark II is better.
Speaker:So, I would recommend that one, and it is
Speaker:currently sitting at around a thousand?
Speaker:Yeah, which is pretty good.
Speaker:And that's with the kit lens.
Speaker:So you might not want the kit lens.
Speaker:You might want something
Speaker:that's a bit better.
Speaker:It gives you more depth of field.
Speaker:It gives you, you know, more reach.
Speaker:If you're further enough away from
Speaker:your source, then you do have the
Speaker:capabilities of having a better lens.
Speaker:And, uh, it's just beautiful
Speaker:and it's just easy to use.
Speaker:And it's, Small and I don't
Speaker:recommend anything else to anyone
Speaker:that this is all they're doing.
Speaker:You know, you don't need
Speaker:a really massive camera.
Speaker:Just get something that will do
Speaker:that's within your capabilities.
Speaker:And it just looks great.
Speaker:You will also need an Elgato cam link
Speaker:to attach it to your computer if you're
Speaker:wanting to get the full 4k experience.
Speaker:So I recommend that.
Speaker:And I've put a link in there as well.
Speaker:And you'll need a small rig micro
Speaker:to HDMI cable so that you can get.
Speaker:The true HD from the camera
Speaker:through to your computer as well.
Speaker:So they're just a few little extra cables
Speaker:that most people don't tell you about.
Speaker:And then you buy the thing
Speaker:and you're like, well, how do
Speaker:I connect it to my thing now?
Speaker:Like I can do it via the USB,
Speaker:but it's actually not as good a
Speaker:quality as doing it via the HDMI.
Speaker:So that is the recommendation there.
Speaker:Now let's get into some webcams.
Speaker:So let's say, okay, I really
Speaker:don't want to see this.
Speaker:000 on a video camera.
Speaker:I want to spend a little bit
Speaker:less and it's too much of a
Speaker:footprint and all the things.
Speaker:Uh, you can just get a webcam.
Speaker:I've got two options for you here.
Speaker:We've got the Elgato Facecam Pro,
Speaker:which I've recommended and we've
Speaker:recommended to clients as well.
Speaker:And it's a really solid choice.
Speaker:It is around 299, uh, but
Speaker:Insta360 Link 2 has just come out
Speaker:recently and it's cheaper at 199.
Speaker:Uh, so that would be potentially
Speaker:worth trialing as well.
Speaker:Both do 4k, both are very good
Speaker:brands, both will be solid options.
Speaker:Not my first option for sure, but
Speaker:if you're wanting to get above the
Speaker:webcam that's included on your laptop
Speaker:or your PC or whatever, those webcams
Speaker:are an option and they're much
Speaker:cheaper than buying an actual camera.
Speaker:Once you've got cameras, You do need
Speaker:to do something about your lighting.
Speaker:Now, if you're lucky enough to have a
Speaker:window, uh, then you can just use the
Speaker:window potentially as your light source.
Speaker:But keeping in mind, you've got clouds,
Speaker:you've got days where, you know, you've
Speaker:got cloud that comes and goes, and then
Speaker:you've got different light that comes in.
Speaker:It's good to control the light if
Speaker:you can, like in this case, I have a
Speaker:window that I could use, but I don't
Speaker:use that because it's so variable.
Speaker:Sometimes it's whacking me in
Speaker:the face with way too much light.
Speaker:And sometimes it's,
Speaker:yeah, it's too cloudy.
Speaker:So we use the Aputure Amaran 200X
Speaker:and the Aputure Light Dome Mini.
Speaker:They're up to version three.
Speaker:Why the mini?
Speaker:Because the mini dome is much
Speaker:smaller, hence the name, then the big.
Speaker:Light dome and for a small room like
Speaker:this and for most people you don't need
Speaker:a giant light dome You just need a small
Speaker:light dome that will diffuse the light
Speaker:and it will be wonderful so they're the
Speaker:Recommendations that I have for that
Speaker:if you're wanting a setup where you get
Speaker:like a big light on a stand and it helps
Speaker:you diffuse the light So I'm going to
Speaker:show you how to do that in just that
Speaker:really nice natural kind of light we've
Speaker:also got lights in the background here.
Speaker:I've got a light that I normally
Speaker:have here as well, and I've
Speaker:also got another key light.
Speaker:So we've got lights that
Speaker:do different things.
Speaker:But that's my recommendations for that.
Speaker:If you want a light that's on a stand,
Speaker:that's like kind of your hero light.
Speaker:If you're not looking to spend
Speaker:that much, then you could
Speaker:get the Elgato key light air.
Speaker:They don't even need a stand
Speaker:because they have a stand and
Speaker:that just stands on your desk.
Speaker:They're not super bright,
Speaker:but they are enough.
Speaker:I would probably get two of them if
Speaker:you were going to do that and then
Speaker:position them on your desk, kind of both.
Speaker:hitting you and then have some sort of
Speaker:other light in the background as well.
Speaker:The key light air is around 109
Speaker:and so you can see that's a pretty
Speaker:cheap option even if you've got
Speaker:two of them and then you've got
Speaker:nice light either side as well.
Speaker:Oh, now speaking of that other light
Speaker:too, with the big light box, you
Speaker:know, the filter and everything.
Speaker:You will need a stand for that.
Speaker:So I've included like a tripod
Speaker:stand, uh, that's from small rig.
Speaker:We have a really heavy duty
Speaker:one, but you don't need it to
Speaker:be super heavy duty like ours.
Speaker:I recommend, yeah, small rig one.
Speaker:It's about 70 ish dollars, but
Speaker:you can spend more or less on
Speaker:those if you want to as well.
Speaker:Again, should be one of those things
Speaker:that you invest in because they do break.
Speaker:And they do have weight limits,
Speaker:and it's important for you to get
Speaker:something that's just going to last.
Speaker:And also on stands, we also
Speaker:recommend the small rig.
Speaker:Oh my god, these are so good.
Speaker:The SmallRig Desk Clamps.
Speaker:So they just clip, clamp to your desk
Speaker:and you can just shove anything on them.
Speaker:That has this.
Speaker:So you can have, you
Speaker:know, different cameras.
Speaker:Uh, you could have lights.
Speaker:It's just really, really a solid choice
Speaker:if you had like a teleprompter and you
Speaker:wanted to put that on one of these.
Speaker:I love them.
Speaker:And they're not, again, very expensive.
Speaker:I'm going to put a link
Speaker:to those here as well.
Speaker:Oh my gosh!
Speaker:That's quite a list.
Speaker:So we've got USB only, USB
Speaker:XLR, XLR, wireless, XLR cables,
Speaker:preamps, boom arms, headphones,
Speaker:cameras, cables for your cameras.
Speaker:Stands, webcams, lighting,
Speaker:there's a lot of things there.
Speaker:And these are my
Speaker:absolute recommendations.
Speaker:This is gear that I've personally used,
Speaker:or I've watched enough of, or I've
Speaker:watched enough people use that I know,
Speaker:yes, that's solid, that's a good option.
Speaker:The only one I haven't
Speaker:used, I think, is the SM7DB.
Speaker:and the MV7 plus.
Speaker:I've used the SM7 and I've used the
Speaker:MV7, but I haven't used their upgraded
Speaker:versions and based on what I know of
Speaker:them, what I've heard, what I've seen,
Speaker:what I've listened to, I know that
Speaker:they're going to be solid choices.
Speaker:So I definitely put them
Speaker:in there for you as well.
Speaker:Every single thing that I've mentioned
Speaker:will be in the description of this
Speaker:video, so you can go ahead and
Speaker:just Just get whatever you need.
Speaker:If you've got any questions,
Speaker:please put them in the comments
Speaker:below this video and I'll be happy
Speaker:to answer them as many as I can.
Speaker:If you want troubleshooting,
Speaker:technical help, anything like that,
Speaker:you can always book in consults
Speaker:with us here at Bambi Media.
Speaker:We can look at your setup, we can sit
Speaker:with you and we can go, you need this.
Speaker:We recommend you buy these four things.
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:So that's an option as well.
Speaker:Happy to have those consultations.
Speaker:And yeah.
Speaker:Thanks for watching.
Speaker:Thanks for listening.
Speaker:Do all the normal things
Speaker:that people tell you to do.
Speaker:You know, like it.
Speaker:Just, thank you.
Speaker:Thank you for being here.
Speaker:I hope you have a wonderful
Speaker:day and happy shopping.
